The African Nova Scotian Music Association (ANSMA) Annual Awards Show is a premier event that celebrates the achievements and contributions of African Nova Scotian musicians and industry professionals. This event highlights Black excellence and acknowledges the hard work and impact of artists and creatives within the community.

This year’s theme, Legends and Legacy, ties those who have established roots in Black and African Nova Scotian music to the music we see from our community today. These foundations are formed by rhythms and a musical essence that is still ever present.

With this theme we create a high class and intergenerational feel, bringing the variety and vibrancy within Nova Scotia’s Black community into focus.Legends and Legacy also adds emphasis to the direction our local industry is headed as ANSMA supports artists along their journey to the world stage. This theme encapsulates the impact of trailblazers to current groundbreakers who are shaping the sounds of African Nova Scotian Music.
