House Concert with Daniel James McFadyen
May 11 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Born in Caledon, Ontario, rising indie-folk artist Daniel James McFadyen now calls Nova Scotia home. His storytelling and interactive shows have sold out across Canada, filling large venues including Toronto’s iconic Horseshoe Tavern and the Marquee Ballroom in Halifax. Amidst a year of remarkable growth, McFadyen released his highly anticipated EP, Songs to Show Your Friends last October. The 5-track offering introduces intricate melodies and compelling instrumentation in which he explores topics of love, loss, adventure, and feelings of home, all of which have defined his presence in the Canadian folk and indie scenes.
McFadyen’s debut album, August, I’m Yours, was released in 2021, and earned him nominations for several ECMAs and Nova Scotia Music Awards including Folk Recording of the Year, Rising Star Recording of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
NOTE: Patchwork is a house concert series, i.e. we present concerts in our living room. For all shows the artist(s) take the door. We provide the stage, chairs and hopefully a room filled with eager listeners. We will provide a few snacks and soft drinks will be available; otherwise it is BYOB (we have glasses!). Bringing music-loving-friends and visiting family members is strongly encouraged.
