Deep Cuts Presents: Night of the Comet Screening
December 19 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Celebrate Christmas with Deep Cuts and our special guest host Drue Robyn with a screening of Night of the Comet (the first scene takes place in the Christmas season so it’s officially a Christmas movie). The action-horror-comedy described by Variety as a “successful pastiche of numerous science fiction films, executed with an entertaining, tongue-in-cheek flair” is screening for one night only at the Bus Stop Theatre Co-operative.
Sisters Reggie and Sam are seemingly the only survivors of a comet which, when it passed earth, all other humans either evaporated or turned into zombies. In this new world, can they find ever safety? Home? Perhaps even… love?
“one of the most amusing, witty, imaginative, and thought-provoking films I’ve seen that was made with no budget and is also cheap exploitation”
“a good-natured, end-of-the-world B-movie”
“creates a visually arresting B-picture in neon-primary colors””
“Valley Girl culture satire Night of the Comet gets lots of mileage out of its slapstick sci-fi zombie approach”
