Lost In Japan

October 7, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

London, ON-based alt/pop/rock band Lost In Japan take their local success, pack the gear in the van and head east to build an audience in Atlantic Canada. They’re a good band and we like to give good, new-to-us acts a shot, so they’ll be playing The Carleton on Saturday, October 7th at 7 PM. Because they don’t want money to be a barrier to entry, tickets are only going to be $10 + HST. They’re young, they’re keen, they can write and play, and they’re confident that if you take a chance on them, you’ll be back when they are. Take that chance, live a little…
“When we hit that stage, all you’re going to want to do is party” Frontman Addison Johnson says right before entering a sold out hometown show. Lost in Japan is an indie rock band hailing from the vibrant music scene of London, Ontario. Formed in 2016, the band has seen success including over 1,000,000 streams, two singles charting across Canada and shows that took them all over North America. Now in 2023, Lost in Japan have finished recording their Sophomore LP, Night Talks, a project that truly embraces the band’s ability to express their unique Alternative rock sound with relatable branding.
The band has already charted across Canada’s Alternative Radio (Red Line) Reached #22 on Active Rock Billboard & Satellite Radio. Working with Juno award winning producer Dan Brodbeck (The Cranberries, Headstrong, Helix) at Sugar Shack Studios in London, ON and producer Matt Snell (Dua Lipa, Dermot Kennedy, Sean Hook) at Noble Street Studios in Toronto,ON, the band is persistently pursuing its ambitions by finalizing a project that represents them as a band.

Lost in Japan’s story began when four friends with a shared passion for music and a desire to create something uniquely their own came together and embarked on this musical adventure with a common vision: to blend their diverse influences and create a sound that could seamlessly fuse elements of indie rock, alternative, and pop into a sonic tapestry that defies easy categorization. Drawing inspiration from their surroundings, experiences, and personal journeys, Lost in Japan quickly developed a signature sound characterized by emotive lyrics, intricate melodies, and dynamic arrangements. Their early performances in local venues and small gigs allowed them to refine their craft and build a dedicated local fan base.
Lost in Japan’s music transcended borders, capturing the hearts of fans around the world. The singles Never Was You , Red Line and Troy became anthems of a generation, resonating with listeners who found solace, inspiration, and a sense of belonging in their music. As they continued to tour extensively, the group gained a loyal international following, selling out shows in cities across North America. Their ability to create a genuine connection with fans, both through their music and personal interactions, reinforced their status as an act that stood for more than just music—it represented a movement, a shared experience, and a community of like-minded individuals.
