MISSION: POSSIBLE- Producing for Short Films
April 17 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Short films can become a filmmaker’s calling card. A short film can get you into a film festival where you can discover your audience, network, and even be nominated for awards. But the producing road to get there can feel overwhelming to navigate. In this workshop with instructor Britney Canzi, we will break down the process of producing scripted and unscripted short films- guiding you through the steps from the development phase to the festivals/distribution submission phase. We will cover and discuss collaborating and forming your teams, financing plans, and business affairs: budgets, insurance, talent agreements working with union and non-union actors, releases, filming location permits, and festival submission plans. *Empowering you with more tools and resources to produce and create your next dream project.
Britney Canzi is a producer (CMPA member), writer, and actor (ACTRA) based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. She has written and produced for both scripted and unscripted content.
