NEW DATE: Sensory-Accessible Concerts: Guitarist Adam Cicchillitti
April 7 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This enchanting concert (rescheduled from February) features the warm and intricate stylings of celebrated classical guitarist Adam Cicchillitti, alongside award-winning pianist and series host Jennifer King. Presented in partnership with the Halifax Public Libraries, this free afternoon event is designed to be sensory-friendly, inclusive, and welcoming for all community members. The program offers a rich mix of music, featuring Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla’s “Invierno Porteno,” a piece that mirrors the serene essence of winter in Buenos Aires, and Luigi Boccherini’s “Introduction and Fandango,” a vibrant and lively composition reflecting the festive spirit of 18th century Italy. A highlight is the second movement from Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez,” a piece that evokes emotional resonance and introspection. Complementing these works are Mélanie Bonis’ expressively lyrical “Romance sans Paroles” and Québécois composer Alain Payette’s dynamic “Duo pour guitare et piano.” This Sensory-Accessible Concerts performance, blending rare guitar and piano repertoire with exceptional artistry, promises an inspiring musical journey for all music lovers.
