Spring Equinox Stargazing & Bison Tour

This special evening begins with a guided Bison Tour, offering a rare opportunity to learn about these powerful animals, their history on this land, and the deep symbolism and spirit they have carried for Indigenous cultures and settlers alike.
The bison are more than livestock, they are living links to the ancient story of this continent.
As night falls and the sky darkens, the focus turns upward.
The astronomy portion of the evening is led by David Hoskin, a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC), Halifax Centre, since 2018. David will guide guests through the Spring Equinox sky, explaining the visible constellations, planets, and celestial movements while also sharing the ancient wisdom, stories, and mystery that humans have associated with the stars for thousands of years.
This is an educational, immersive experience that blends science, story, land, and sky. Inviting you to understand not only what you see above, but how people across cultures and time have looked to the heavens for meaning, navigation, and connection.
The Spring Equinox marks a moment of balance between light and dark — a powerful time to gather, to learn, and to witness the turning of the year under a vast rural sky.
