A stand out in Downtown Dartmouth that almost benefits from its limited (read: exclusive) seating. This very hip spot delivers some of the most innovative cocktails in Halifax with a laid-back vibe.
The Wooden Monkey
Terminal, Above Ferry, 40 Alderney Dr #305, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 2N5
a sister to their Halifax location, this cozy spot offers organic food and local food, with, of course, a great selection of local beers and wines. As a plus, it’s located right along the Dartmouth waterfront inside the Alderney Ferry Terminal building.
The Canteen

This trendy hot spot serves up delicious cocktails and elevated comfort food.
Jacob’s Lounge
106 Portland St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 1H8
Jacob’s is a classic local spot with a neighbourhood feel and affordable drinks.
Lake City Cider
35 Portland St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 1H1
This well-located cidery serves up a range of ciders and offers a welcoming patio (plus a cute duck logo…in case you’re wondering).
Millstone Public House King’s Wharf
67 Kings Wharf Pl Suite 102, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 0C6
Perhaps the closest thing to a sports bar in Downtown Dartmouth, this cozy spot has a great selection of beers and delicious food. We’ve also been noticing a very strong lineup of musical guests as of late.
No matter what kind of bar experience you’re looking for, Downtown Dartmouth should have something that perfectly accents your night out. While lovely, Downtown Dartmouth isn’t huge, so even if the first bar you visit isn’t the right fit, the next one will likely be a few doors down.
So why wait? Head out and check them out for yourself!
